The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the 2019 May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results.
The results for candidates who sat for the exam were announced today at the WAEC headquarters in Lagos. The Head of National Office (HNO), Mr Olu Adenipekun, said "1,020,519 candidates representing 64.18% obtained credits and above in minimum of five (5) subjects including English Language and Mathematics".
Analysing the results, he made it public that 1,590,173 candidates sat for the examination in Nigeria, in which 822,098 were male while 768,075 were female, representing 51.70% and 48.30% respectively
The Head of National Office gave a breakdown of the results when he said: "Out of the total number of candidates that sat the examination in Nigeria, 1,468,071 candidates, representing 92.32% have their results fully processed and released while 122,102 candidates representing 7.68% have a few of their subjects still being processed".
"1,309,570 candidates representing 82.35% obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five (5) subjects (that is, with or without English Language and/ or Mathematics)".
The results of 180,205 candidates, representing 11.33% of the total number of candidates that sat the examination are being withheld in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice. The cases are being investigated and reports of the investigations will be presented to the appropriate Committee of the Council in due course. The Committee’s decisions will be communicated to the affected candidates through their various various schools.

How To Check WAEC Result 2019
Having conquered the fear of failure in WAEC 2019, it is now time to guide you through the steps needed to check your result.
To check your WAEC 2019 May/June WASSCE Result:
1. Visit waec direct result checker at https://www.waecdirect.org.
2. Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number. This is your 7-Digit centre number followed by your 3-digit candidate number eg. 4123456789.
3. Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year. That is, 2019.
4. Select the Type of Examination. Here you are to select school candidate results since it is May/June WAEC result.
5. Enter the Card Serial Number found on the reverse side of your Scratch card.
6. Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Scratch card.
7. Click Submit and wait for the results window to come up.
8. Print your results.
Congratulations!
Note: Use the scratch card pin and serial number on the waec ID card given to you during the 2019 WAEC May/June WASSCE.
