Rivers United Drawn Against AS Real Bamako In 2017 CAF Champions League Qualifying Round

The runner-up of the 2015/2016 Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) Rivers United FC have been drawn up to face AS Real Bamako of Mali in the 2017 CAF Champions League qualifying round tie that will be played on a home-and-away two-legged basis.

The Pride of Rivers will embark on a journey to Bamako, Mali for the first leg of the contest slated for the weekend of 10th to 12th February, 2017.

The NPFL Super Four Competition Winner Rivers United will host AS Real Bamako In the City of Port-Harcourt, Nigeria for the second leg of the preliminary round between 17th to 19th February, 2017.

If the debutants advance to the first round of the competition, they will play with the winner of the preliminary round match between Sony Elá Nguema of Equatorial Guinea and Al-Merrikh of Sudan in March, 2017.

The winner of the first round tie will qualify for the 2017 CAF Champions League group stage, while the loser will join in the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup play-off. 

Meanwhile, NPFL Champions Enugu Rangers will battle with JS Saoura Of Algeria In Qualifying Round of the competition.
