The long awaited Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination (JAMB) admissions posting for 2016/2017 academic session is finally out. It is coming out of the body following the released of guidelines for admissions into tertiary institutions in Nigeria. These guidelines are to serve as a reference to tertiary institutions for screening of candidates posted to them by JAMB.
The ban on Post-UTME by the Federal Government has been a major Executive arm's contribution to a smooth and free admission exercise in Nigeria. The directives from FG scrapping the screening examination came in when some tertiary institutions such as UNIBEN, UNIUYO, UNIPORT and others had already advertised their Post-UTME screening exercise for admissions.
The latest development by JAMB will offer candidates the opportunity of not going to their institutions of choice to write another Computer Based Test, and the rate of admission scamming will be reduced drastically.

How To Check Your Admission Recommendation Status
- Your 2016 UTME registration number should be available to use during the process.
- 2016 UTME scores of 180 marks and above is required.
- Visit JAMB website.
- Navigate to 2016 UTME and click on check where you have been posted for admission consideration.
- Input your registration number in (1) above and click submit to check your admission status. OR
