Abia Warriors FC 1 – 0 Giwa FC
Abia Warriors FC welcomed Giwa FC to the five thousand capacity Umuahia Township Stadium on Saturday. They came into the match without their key man Chisom Chikatara, but that did not stop them from winning the game in front of their home supporters. The likes of Uche Ihurulam, Stanley Okoro, Valentine Nwabili, Kalu Nweke, Henry Nwaimo, Chinedu Ozor and others live up to fan's expectations by helping the team to obtain the much needed victory at home.
The turning point of the encounter was seen when Valentine Nwabili's lofted cross within six yards in the opponent's territory found the head of Uche Ihurulam who strike the ball with his head into the back of the net to give the home side a lead before half time.

Rangers Int'l FC 1 – 1 Shooting Stars FC
A battle for the return to top of the NPFL 2015/2016 season took place in the city of Enugu at the Rangers home stadium popularly called Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday. Rangers FC needed just a point to go back to number one spot on the log after been overtaken by Abia Warriors who played their game earlier.
Rangers International FC had recorded seven wins from seven home matches before the match against Shooting Stars FC. A draw ensured that Ranger's unbeaten record at home this season is extended to eight matches.
Both teams shared the same position in the first half of the game. They enjoyed a free flow game as the rate of match tensions were limited. It was a barren draw when the referee signalled the end of first quarter of the match.
The second half began with so much of expectations from the home team who missed the presence of two first team regulars, that is, Bobby Clement and Obinna Nwobodo. This was an exciting half to watch. Each team added much energy to the game and their instinct for attacking prowess was raised from its slumbering state.
The first goal came in the 80th minutes when striker Chisom Egbuchulam was kicked in the opponent's goal area and a penalty was given to the flying antelopes. Chisom Egbuchulam scored from the spot. This made the visitors to start approaching the Rangers keeper's box in search for an equaliser. Their efforts paid off when they were given a penalty in the injury time of the encounter. Tope Orelope converted it to a goal and it ended 1 – 1 after full time whistle.
Akwa United FC 2 – 0 FC Ifeanyi Ubah

It was an entertaining match to watch as both teams tried to display ticky tacky method of play in the round leather game. But Isaac's cross in the 11th minutes that found the positioning head of Ubong Ekpai and Ukeme's true pass to Friday Ubong in the first half stoppage time, produced the defining moment for the home team.
Akwa United FC had to alter their playing style by doing the defensive aspect the more and also pushing for a counter attack. This did not produced another goal, rather they settled for a 2 – 0 win in Uyo.
