NPFL 2015/2016 Match Day 2 Rescheduled Games Hold Today, Wednesday 16th March, 2016

Three rescheduled matches in the ongoing Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) 2015/2016 season will be played today at different centres across the nation.

>FC Ifeanyi Ubah vs Nasarawa United FC

The South-Eastern part of the country will welcome a club from the Northern Nigeria axis at the FC Ifeanyiubah International Stadium in Nnewi, Anambra State.  The encounter is between the home based team, FC Ifeanyi Ubah and visitors Nasarawa United FC.

The home team will come into the match with complete confidence after they whitewashed the new comers Ikorodu United 4 - 1 in the week 6 fixture played at the same venue. A brace by Nico Dao ( 11th and 18th minutes respectively), a goal from Okereke Maduabuchi in the 56th minute and a penalty converted by Pascal Seka gave FC Ifeanyi Ubah the superiority over Ikorodu United FC. Stephen Nwaiwu scored in the 32nd minutes for Ikorodu United FC. The presence of foreign players in the Nnewi-based team have contributed immensely to their home success this season.

The earlier postponed Match-day 2 fixture will be played in the renovated pitch of the Nnewi Stadium. The match was postponed because of Nasarawa United's engagement in the CAF Confederation Cup qualification round. Kickoff time is 4:00pm.

>Enyimba International FC vs Shooting Stars FC

The commercial city of Aba will be as noisy as usual when Enyimba International FC play host to Shooting Stars FC.

Enyimba's recent home victory in the CAF Champions League qualification round will motivate the players to secure full three points in today's rescheduled league match. The Nigerian League Champions, Enyimba FC, defeated their Burundian counterparts, Vital’O 5-1 in the CAF Champions League match played on Sunday. Stephen Chukwude and Mfon Udoh scored a brace each while Ugochukwu Leonard came off the bench to add a goal to Enyimba's goal advantage ahead of the second leg match in Burundi. Hussein Shaban scored for Vital’O club.

Enyimba FC succumbed to a shocking 2 -  0 defeat at the hands of El-Kanemi Warriors in their last NPFL game. The match will kickoff by 4:00pm.

>Akwa United FC vs Ikorodu United FC

The famous Godswill Akpabio International Stadium (Nest of Champions), Uyo will be the venue for NPFL 2015/2016 rescheduled match between Akwa United FC and Ikorodu United FC.

Akwa United FC have played 4 games this season with 2 home wins, away draw and a defeat. They occupied the 9th position on the league table and a victory will give them a lift above 7th placed team. Their last home match against Plateau United FC produced two classic goals scored by Ubong Friday.

Akwa United FC are adamant to maintaining their unbeaten runs at the Nest of Champions. They are the favourite to win today's game. They have scored in all their league matches. The promise-keepers will be boosted by the return of their striker, Ubong Ekpai who missed a league match after receiving a red card against Kano Pillars. Kickoff time is 4:00pm.
