Mitko Dobrev, the former coach of FC Ifeanyi Ubah arrived Lagos, Nigeria yesterday to complete all formalities and put pen to paper on an undisclosed deal after successful negotiations with the club to resume as Head Coach.
Mitko Dobrev, the coach who successfully led the premier league side to promotion, left the club last year to take up a one year coaching course after reaching an understanding with the club.
Coach Mitko Dobrev who was received by the Chairman of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Chukwuma Ubah could not hide his delight on his return to FC Ifeanyi Ubah.
Mitko stated that after he took a long break to improve in his career by undertaking a one year coaching course, he feels refreshed, motivated and better equipped to match the goals set by the club. This will be a very interesting year and I cannot wait to meet with the players at the camp site, he added.
Speaking to pressmen, Chukwuma Ubah expressed his pleasure at the return of the gaffer. Mitko Dobrev is an experienced coach, especially when it comes to African football and we are extremely delighted to have him back with us and we firmly believe he is the right man to steer this ship to its destination, Chukwuma affirmed.
Mitko was eventually hosted by the President of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah at his lagos residence where the President shared his vision and dream for the premier league club this year.
Chief Ubah noted that his love and passion for the club and Nigerian football in general were responsible for the massive investments he is currently making into the playing and coaching staff of FC Ifeanyi Ubah. He further pointed out that these massive investments would inject flair and excitement into the Nigerian Professional Football League.
Recall that only three days ago, FC Ifeanyi Ubah flew in six brazilian professional footballers and two assistant coaches all in a bid to mount a sustained and successful title challenge.
Mitko Dobrev will be unveiled as Head Coach of FC Ifeanyi Ubah in Ibadan today at the team's camp site.
Hope we will see a much better league in Nigeria than that of previous seasons.
