African Best and Manchester City's Creative Midfielder Yaya Toure has been named in the 23-man shortlist for the Ballon d'Or award.
It is on paper that the duo of Ballon d'Or holder Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have won the past seven awards, with the later winning four consecutive years and the former winning three times.
Meanwhile, C. Ronaldo and Lionel Messi lead the nominees drawn from La Liga with 11 players, Bundesliga with 5 players, 5 players from EPL, a player from Serie A and a player from France's Ligue 1.
