WAEC Agricultural Science Practical Specimens For 2018 WASSCE

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has distributed the list of specimens and equipment to be used by School Candidates who have to write Agricultural Science practical in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The list below consists of specimens and equipment for Agricultural Science Practical. Schools approved for the exams are expected to use these to prepare ahead of this exam.

Please, take not that this is no way a form of examination malpractice as it was officially made available by WAEC. We have provided the specimens for preparation purpose only.

The WASSCE 2018 Specimens for Agricultural Science Practical are listed below:

WAEC Agricultural Science Practical Specimens 2018

Specimen A: Axe
Specimen B: Spade
Specimen C: Sickle
Specimen D: Hand Trowel
Specimen E: Shears
Specimen F: Hand Fork


For specimens G, H and I, you are requested to get some quantity of Sandy soil. Divide the quantity of Sandy soil into three portions. Wash the first portion which is to be labelled G with a neutral solution (water) until the soup is neither acidic nor alkaline then air-dry the soil.

To the second portion which is to be labelled H, add some quantity of Hydrochloric acid (HCL) and air-dry.

To the third portion which is to be labelled I, add some quantity of sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) solution and air-dry.

Then supply to each candidate, samples of specimens G, H and I each in a beaker, some quantity of water, blue litmus paper, red litmus paper and a stirrer.

Specimen J: Maize grain damaged by weevils. 
Specimen K: Yam tuber damaged by yam beetles. 
Specimen L: Cassava leaves showing mosaic disease symptoms.
Specimen M: Tomato fruits showing fruit rot symptoms. 
Specimen N: Liver fluke (preserved or picture or diagram).
Specimen O: Tick
Specimen P: Trypanosome parasite (diagram or picture). 
Specimen Q: Rat
Specimen R: Bird
Specimen S: Grasshopper
