NPFL Match Day 15 Previews: Abia Warriors FC Hopeful Of Maximum Three Points

Abia Warriors FC will be desperate for a win that will guarantee their elevation to the top of the NPFL table. The Umuahia based club will go joint-top of the table if the take maximum three points at home when they lock horns at the Umuahia Stadium.

Abia Warriors FC vs Giwa FC

The match day 15 encounter of the Nigerian Professional Football League will commence with a game between Abia Warriors FC and Giwa FC on Saturday, 7th May, 2016 at the city of Umuahia.

Abia Warriors FC players will showcase their talents by trying to outshine their opposition and defending their two-game unbeaten streak. The Kennedy Boboye's men suffered their last defeat in a match day 7 rescheduled fixture played on the 13th of April, 2016 at the home of Warri Wolves FC. It ended 1 - 0 in favour of Warri Wolves FC. 

Coming into this match on the back of a goalless draw away from home to the star-studded FC Ifeanyi Ubah, the hosts are favourite to win Giwa FC who lost 0 - 3 at home to Wikki Tourists FC last weekend.

Rangers Int'l FC vs Shooting Stars FC

Rangers International FC will be adamant to win and Shooting Stars FC will be acting as a stumbling block when they lock horns at the Rangers International Stadium, Enugu on Sunday, 8th May, 2016. Kickoff is by 4:00pm.

Their last league outing sees Rangers Int'l FC being humbled 3 - 1 by Rivers United, while Shooting Stars FC played out a 2 - 2 draw against Plateau United in Makurdi.

Pressure will be mounted on Imama Amapakabo's charges to perform from their ever demanding fans. The turn up for Rangers matches at Enugu Stadium is always great and a win will ensure that the number of fans will continue to increase.

The flying antelopes have scored twenty-one (21) goals and conceded 15 goals so far, with the visitors netting fifteen (15) goals and letting in 23 goals too. Kickoff: 4:00PM.

Heartland FC vs El-Kanemi Warriors

Heartland FC will host El-Kanemi Warriors on match day 15 of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), with the intention of maintaining their  home winning form. They have won their last five home games, with a draw in the opening home match and a lost at home to Abia Warriors FC in the match day 3 fixture in the 2015/2016 NPFL season.

Ahead of Sunday's game against the Maiduguri based club, the Naze Millionaires have been handed a massive boost as their strikers have netted goals in their last four games and they are expected to score and win at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.

Heartland FC need to win the week fifteen game to move away from 11th spot on the log which they currently occupy after gathering 18 points from 14 matches played. El-Kanemi Warriors on the other hand aren't safe on the log sheet, as they are at the 17th position on the table with 16 points and their aim on Sunday is to beat Heartland FC after losing 0 - 1 at Niger Tornadoes home. Warriors form has been poor in their away games, playing one draw and losing the rest. They only draw coming from the game at Giwa FC in a match day 8 fixture. Kickoff: 4:00PM.

Akwa United FC vs FC Ifeanyi Ubah

Victory for either Akwa United FC or the Star-studded FC Ifeanyi Ubah at the Godswill International Stadium will lift them into the firing line on the log sheet. 

Akwa United FC have won five, drawn three and lost six, while FC Ifeanyi Ubah have recorded seven victories, two draws and five defeats in the fourteen-week old league season.

The Uyo based club sit six places behind FC Ifeanyi Ubah in fourth place.

Akwa United FC have had a three consecutive defeats prior to this fixture. Their last game being a 3 - 0 defeat away to the league new comers MFM FC. Meanwhile, FC Ifeanyi Ubah have had a win, a defect and a draw in their last three consecutive games of the 2015/2016 NPFL season. Their last game being a goalless draw at home with Abia Warriors FC.

The coach of Akwa United FC will be desperate for a win as further defeat could lead to his suspension from the team. But the visitors will not allow the promise keepers to win so easily as they are determined to get at least a point from the Nest of Champions in Uyo. Time: 4:00PM.

Enyimba Int'l FC vs Niger Tornadoes FC

Enyimba International FC are bound to maintain their fine form when the welcome visitors to the Aba Township Stadium on Sunday. The League Champions will play with an aim to seek a boost to the current points they have gathered from the matches played.

The People's Elephants have won two of their last three league matches and a draw. They won Kano Pillars 1 - 2 at Sani Abacha Stadium in the rescheduled match day 7 game played on Wednesday, 4th May, 2016.

The Aba side have claimed 17 points from eleven matches this season and are placed 15th on the log. Niger Tornadoes FC have claimed 17 points from fourteen matches this season and are placed 16th on the log with inferior goal difference to Enyimba FC. Kickoff: 4:00PM.

Other fixtures for the match day 15 games include Kano Pillars vs Ikorodu United FC, Plateau United FC vs Sunshine Stars FC, Warri Wolves FC vs Rivers United FC, Wikki Tourists FC vs Nasarawa United FC, Lobi Stars FC vs MFM FC. All matches kicks off by 4:00PM on Sunday, 8th May, 2016.
